The Merrimack Magic teams make-up the tournament and travel program for MYA Girls' Softball.  Magic teams compete against both Babe Ruth and USA Softball opponents at 12U, 10U, and 8U levels.

Each year the program holds tryouts in the fall for our 12U and 10U teams and in the spring for our 8U team when there is enough interest.

12U and 10U teams will begin practice in the fall and play a fall game schedule against local teams. The fall schedule will consist of two practices and at least one game each week during September and October, plus a fall tournament. 12U and 10U programs offer an off-season training program throughout the winter.

The spring and summer tournament season typically begins in late April and goes through July. Teams will play 6-8 tournaments during the season, against USA Softball and Babe Ruth Softball opponents. 10U players are recommended to participate in the MYA recreational softball program. 12U players are encouraged to participate in the MYA recreational program for skill development, but it is not required.

During the recreational softball season Magic teams will typically practice up to two days each week during the season and then three to four days each week once the tournament season is in full swing. Teams will typically play one out-of-town, overnight tournament during the summer.

8U tryouts and selection will begin in the spring at the beginning of the MYA recreational season. 8U teams will participate in 1-2 jamborees or tournaments. 8U teams will have one practice each week during the recreational season, and two or three practices each week once the recreational season is finished.
